Esther's Story

When her care become gridlocked, Solace helped Esther make progress.

“Honestly, figuring out my healthcare sometimes feels impossible. But because of my advocate’s support, things are finally moving in the right direction.”

Esther’s care was complex, but her doctors weren’t talking to one another.

Esther, a 66-year-old retired nurse, needed help. She suffered from an unlikely combination of several complex diseases, including Hashimoto’s disease, peripheral neuropathy, fibromyalgia, mast cell activation, and osteoporosis.

Because of her own medical background, she understood the importance of coordinated care—but her doctors just weren’t communicating with one another.

Esther felt like every day was one long doctor’s visit, but progress was never being made. Her sister recommended Solace after hearing about it on the radio.

Esther’s advocate got started right away.

Within forty-eight hours, her advocate had secured referrals and scheduled appointments with a robust medical team that included an endocrinologist, urologist, neurologist, rheumatologist, and allergist. He developed a comprehensive care plan for Esther and served as a centralized point of contact for her entire care team, so nothing fell through the cracks.

Because of the increased coordination, Esther had fewer redundant appointments. Thanks to her advocate, even new specialists were familiar with her health history. She experienced less invasive testing and a greater quality of care. For once, everyone was on the same page, working for the same goal—improving her health and quality of life.

Her care is still complicated. But because of her advocate, Esther is getting the kind, compassionate help she needs to feel like she's in the driver's seat when it comes to her health.
